Welcome to our new Network Manager
We are delighted to welcome Mr Martin Elliott as our new Network Manager. Martin was appointed at the beginning of March following Dr Paul Jones’ departure to assume a new managerial role in a technology company in Cambridge.
Martin has spent his career in the chemical and chemistry using industries and has most recently been consulting and advising new and emerging businesses in this arena. He started in technical roles, before moving into operational and commercial positions prior to taking overall responsibility for one of Rhodia’s (now part of Solvay) UK businesses. His commitment to the chemistry using industries has been widely recognised and he has actively participated in various forums at both UK and European levels for various bodies.
These include the Chemical Industries Association (CIA), the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC), the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI), where he has served as chair of the Science and Enterprise group and also as secretary for the Yorkshire and the Humber regional group. He currently sits on the group that arranges the Public Evening Lectures. He also represented SCI on the United Kingdom Chemical Stakeholders Forum (UKCSF) addressing technical subjects such as REACH, for three years until March 2017. We would like to thank Martin for agreeing to undertake this role. Also We wish to take the opportunity to thank Paul for his contributions to the network.
